roundabout competition

A few years ago my peer Elena Ottavi and i took park in a local competition in Switzerland required the submission of roundabout design propositions. When looking into the community and the area, we soon found out about the active graffiti community and its issues. It was in fact very hard for them to find a place where to express themselves legally. We therefore thought of creating a roundabout with cement walls in the center. The walls looked a bit like the mountain landscape, both to fit in the area and to enable each car to see all the designs. The idea was to create recurring events every season during which selected graffiti artists could express themselves freely and legally. We handed in a 3D model alongside the various plans. the idea resulted in the second place.
