This was a university project. The brief was incredibly freeing and, having just discovered Joan Fontcuberta’s Herbarium series and the work of Karl Blossfeldt, I developed my own series of ‘creatures’.

I was fascinated by the concept of using existing plants to create new creatures. So I scanned several leaves and played with the format, colours and proportions to create new shapes and textures.
